Using the rpm version as described by mpuzirew works for me too. Please update the pkgbuild.

It seems to me that libfluidsynth_plugin.so from debian package is no longer compatible. As a temporary workaround, I downloaded Altlinux rpm-package http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/Sisyphus/x86_64/RPMS.classic//vlc-plugin-fluidsynth-3.0.7.1-alt1.x86_64.rpm and manually unpacked libfluidsynth_plugin.so from it to /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/codec. Luckily, now it works.

This package should be called vlc-plugin-fluidsynth-bin as it just uses the binary instead of building the package itself.

@BachsauPersonally I usually come to the AUR to build packages from source because I prefer installing from source, it's just an opinion. Don't call @anthraxx an idiot because of what they're preferences are, it's immature. The maintainer will do whatever they want to do, irregardless if someone asks.

I'm always happy when I do NOT have to go through all the compilation for no good reason when I install or update a package. Then there comes an idiot like @anthraxx and asks for exactly that – for no good reason.

- stop uploading precompiled binaries to the git repo auf the AUR package right now.
- make this package build the plugin from source
